We the undersigned are demanding that the NYC Conflict Of Interest Board "COIB" do an immediate investigation on Chairman Of Community Board 9 "CB9" Musa Moore.
Musa Moore is a real estate lobbyist (which he failed to disclose) and at the same time the Chairman of CB9, . Since this time he has gotten over $145,000 from four major real estate companies.
The primary job of a Community Board is to make decisions on Land Use issues and it is the job of real estate lobbyists to influence these decisions. Thus it is clear to us that Mr. Moore's has a serious conflict of Interest.
We are also aware that the COIB has made several advisory opinions (93-2, 93-21,95-18) which state that a person who has conflicts of interest on a Community Board must do the following: (1)disclose this information to the Board and community,(2) may not chair and (3) may not vote on items pertaining to his/her conflict of interest.
Musa Moore is in violation of the Conflict of Interest law, Chapter 68 of the City Charter by the following. (see lawsuit for more details regarding above and below statements of facts)
- Remaining the Chair of the CB9 Board.
- Refusing to disclose his conflict
- Voting on Items regarding his conflict (the Bedford Union Armory ULURP application)
The Conflict Of Interest Law states that a board member may not engage in activities that will benefit him, his industry, his employers and his personal relationships with others.
Musa Moore violated this by the following.
- Has gained over $145,000 for being the Chairman of a Community Board, where his employers are engaging in lobbying community boards.
- Submitted a falsified vote and recommendations regarding the Bedford Union Armory, which favored his industry and his employer Borough President Eric Adams
Musa Moores, placement on the board was also in violation of the City Charter Article 1135, which states that the Borough President may not place his employees on the board. According to Moore's website Borough President Eric Adams is his client.
Therefore, we the undersigned, are demanding an immediate investigation and the removal of Musa Moore as chairman of Community Board 9.
