A catastrophic 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos on March 28, 2025, leaving devastation in its wake.
More than 2,700 people have lost their lives and more than 4,500 have been injured. Hundreds of people remain missing to this day, meaning that these horrifying numbers are likely to climb even higher.
Meanwhile, many people have recently been in awe watching scenes of Thailand's stunning landscapes in HBO's third season of
The White Lotus. Its production team filmed this season in the country, showcasing not only the natural beauty Thailand has to offer, but also its vibrant culture.
As HBO financially benefits from the global success of the show - and, by extension, Thailand's hospitality - now is the time to give back. We urge HBO and The White Lotus production team to contribute financial aid to organizations that are providing on-the-ground aid in Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos! Sign the petition!Right now, entire communities in these affected nations are struggling without
electricity, clean water, medical care, or even housing. Meanwhile, rescuers work tirelessly to reach those still trapped in the rubble.
In Thailand, the earthquake even caused an entire new high-rise building to fall while it was still under construction in the capital of Bangkok. Aftershocks continued for days after the initial earthquake, including a massive 5.1 magnitude tremor on March 30th.
Estimates suggest that HBO generated approximately $8 billion in revenue last year alone. Now that HBO has become a financial beneficiary of Thailand's cultural richness and hospitality, it must do the right thing and give back by participating in global relief efforts. This is both a moral obligation, and would be a gesture of goodwill and gratitude.
Sign this petition to call on HBO and The White Lotus team to step up and support earthquake relief efforts. Helping to rebuild communities and provide life-saving assistance would be a powerful act of solidarity and responsibility - and HBO certainly has the money to do this.
