Shelter Vets are cutting off the tip of cats ears to show they're fixed. This is cruel, evil, barbaric, & traumatic. It is also unnecessary & needs to be addressed & stopped.
Cats use their ears for balance, their most important survival skill, communication, & as radar to hear everything.
This also makes the cat less adoptable. If you love your cat it is distressing to even look at let alone lose the soothing touch of their silky ears to a hacked off cartilage
I cry everytime I look at this beautiful cat I rescued now that the NY SPCA brought her back traumatized with her ear cut off. She has nightmares, has lost confidence & is no longer the strong MaMa I rescued with the 2 kittens she protected alone, for 5 weeks. She suffered enough & fought for a home for herself & her kits every second after she was abandoned with 4 kittens.
She doesn't even try to go out, she's an extremely domesticated, indoor cat. Now plagued with a feral cat stigma. Not to mention painful loss of her most important & beautiful skills.
