U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has just reversed critical elephant protections by allowing imports of elephant and lion trophies from Zimbabwe and Zambia that the Obama Administration banned in 2014. The elephant population in Zambia alone has decreased from more than 200,000 elephants in 1972 to just a little over 21,000 according to the Great Elephant Census in 2016. The Fish and Wildlife Service has also just posted a new website that has a guide for trophy hunters that are seeking to import lion trophies.
