Stop DSU’s ridiculous parking policy

Delaware State University does so little for it's students but expects so much from us. DSU has begun to tow cars on campus including in housing parking lots for those who do not have parking passes which are $70. We get nothing free at DSU. As an out of state student not only do I pay over $15000 in tuition each year, but also $9000 for housing plus other fees, and those prices don't including parking? I think that is absurd and I am sure I am not the only one who thinks so. We don't have another option. We cannot park on the street, so we're basically being forced to buy a parking pass with less than 2 months in the school year. What happens if I simply cannot afford the parking permit? Seems like DSU doesn't care. I guess they'd prefer I just not come back to school. I personally believe that parking should be free to students considering we pay so much for low quality housing, food, and educational facilities. I'm not sure about you but I think that DSU is far more concerned with money than with the best interest of it's students, and I am sick of it. If you feel the same please sign this petition and share your feelings about this issue so that we can present it to the administration.

Update #17 years ago
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your support. I have had the opportunity to sit down with Ms. Jasmine Buxton, Associate VP of Student Affairs, and Chief Harry Downes to discuss our concerns in regards to the parking policy here at DSU. I was able to relay many of the points and suggestions you all made in the comments section of the petition. I am happy that we were able to be heard and hopefully some changes will be made with the parking policy and some of the other issues we face here at DSU.
