Why is this so important?
While there are several different Hall of Fames, they all have a similar purpose - to recognize the importance of an individual or group to an industry to which they have devoted themselves. Hall of Fame induction is reserved for those who made a significant impact during their careers and without whom things would be different today.
When a select group of people involved in country music vote on whether or not to elect a person or group into the Country Music Hall of Fame, it appears that many times their vote is based mainly upon popular name recognition. If an artist has had a handful of "hit" records, that artist stands a good chance of election into the Hall of Fame at some point.
But what about those who changed country music but may not be a household name? What if people within the country music industry know well the importance of those individuals, but the general public is unfamiliar with their accomplishments? Such is the case with The Glaser Brothers - Tompall, Chuck and Jim, who individually and collectively left a significant imprint on country music in Nashville during the 1950's to 1980's.
