Right now, Sudan is enduring
the largest humanitarian crisis in the world. Yet the wider international community continues to meet this suffering of millions of people with devastating silence.
Two years ago, a brutal civil war began, and even now, Sudan's people are still trapped in an unrelenting nightmare.
More than 150,000 people have died. Entire cities have been laid to waste. Refugee camps have been bombed, civilians massacred, and
the threat of famine looms over hundreds of thousands of families. In fact,
almost 25 million people - half the population - are going hungry. Sudan's civilians - many of them children - have already endured the unimaginable. They deserve more than our heartbreak; they deserve our solidarity, our advocacy, and our urgent action. Sign the petition to demand global leaders step up and collaborate to provide international aid!Recent attacks on displacement camps near El Fasher in Darfur have killed hundreds and forced over 400,000 people to flee once again - often with nowhere to go. In Darfur alone,
more than 600,000 people are facing deadly famine conditions.
Despite the immense suffering, Sudan has been largely ignored by the international community. Other global crises have pushed Sudan's agony off the front pages - but that does not make the need for urgent action any less real.
We must not turn away. We must not abandon the people of Sudan. Sign the petition to help us call on world governments to immediately increase humanitarian aid for food, medical care, shelter, and protection for Sudan's displaced and starving civilians.
Even though many of us signing this petition are far from Sudan, even though we cannot fully imagine the suffering that millions are enduring, you and I believe that every life deserves dignity, safety, compassion, and hope. Our signatures may feel like a small act — but they are real. They are a way of saying: You are not forgotten. We see you. We care. We will not let our leaders forget about you, either. In a world overflowing with cruelty and indifference, choosing to stand with one another, even from across oceans, is a radical act of humanity. Thank you for joining us in it.
