We Love Reflections Cafe!!!

This is a petition to show Reflections Cafe, a coffee shop on Wickenden St. in Providence how essential they are to this community. This cafe has been around for 8 years and has been a central figure within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered community.

This was a place where people went to
1. hang out
2. have poetry slams
3. set meetings
4. relax
5. do homework
6. go on dates
7. come out about their sexuality to their close ones
8. hang out with their friends and family
9. and generally enjoy the atomosphere of a warm and welcoming staff

People went there because it was a place that accepted them for who and what they were. Reflections was the only place in Providence where you could go and just relax. The staff became friends with many of their customers. They also gave to many many charities and supported the Adopt-A-Family cause during Christmas, encouraging customers to donate toys to low-income families who couldn't afford to have a Christmas.

There is no other place like Reflections and it is essential that the community come together to support them and make them aware of how important they are to us.
