High-speed slaughterhouses have either made normal workers become evil and numb to mass torture and death or have given the criminally insane a place to work.Every hour, approximately 1,000,000 chickens, 13,000 pigs, and 4,000 cows are slaughtered in the United States. These terrified animals are beaten, dismembered, and boiled alive in slaughterhouses across the country. These are totally innocent animals unluckily born into a factory farm. Quicker production demands mean that production lines do not stop for sick, disabled or improperly stunned animals, causing these animals to be brutally murdered while fully conscious. In North Carolina the state legislature has made it law that it is illegal to videotape animal abuse(common in factory farms).Every level of government is guilty of supporting this evil abuse. We,the people must demand that our government return to decency.St. Francis of Assisi said:"those who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, will deal likewise with their fellow man." Gandhi said: "the greatness of a nation and it's moral progress can be judged by the way it's animals are treated". From a factory farm where many live in cages so small they can't make normal movements or too-small pens, animals are beaten and forced onto a truck for the long journey to death. They are dehydrated and hungry and many perish along the way. Upon arrival, the animals are again beaten and forced into a building with terrifying sights, sounds and smells. Animals are then struck with a bolt gun then hung upside down until their throats are cut. Others are submerged in scalding water. About 40 percent are not effectively stunned and endure the torture fully conscious. This is a living hell for innocent animals. There's a video that is pure evil animal abuse in a high-speed slaughterhouse, just google "high-speed slaughterhouse" if you want the visual truth of what goes on in hi-speed slaughter. Besides not being properly stunned before being killed, many undercover organizations have provided video proof of animals being tortured and abused by workers. Workers have been documented beating animals, throwing animals into walls, dragging animals by their legs, ears and tails, burning animals with cigarettes, beheading conscious chickens, and shocking animals with electric prongs on their cheeks, tails, and legs. The Humane Methods of Slaughter Act (HMSA) was created to protect animals at slaughter. The HMSA, however, is rarely enforced by the USDA. The HMSA applies to more than 147 million livestock killed each year at federally and state-inspected plants. It does not protect the billions of chickens, turkeys, ducks, and rabbits slaughtered each year. It also does not apply to animals slaughtered on a farm. The USDA isn't doing their job enforcing current laws. Time to shutdown their hi-speed hell for animals. Mr Vilsack caters to the wealthy and corporate farm lobby that donated to elect him for 8 years as Iowa governor and lobbied congress to get him unanimously approved as secretary of agriculture for going on 8 years now. Enough of this money-fueled evil!! Please stop the torture of animals already condemned to die.
