Thank President Obama for Protecting Browns Canyon, Pullman and Honouliuli!

President Obama has announced three new national monuments -- Browns Canyon in Colorado, the historic Pullman neighborhood in Chicago, and Honouliuli Internment Camp on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu!

Browns Canyon protects 21,000 acres of wild lands, habitats, and waters, while the Pullman National Monument and the Honouliuli National Monument allow us to deepen our understanding of the past.

Permanent protection for Browns Canyon ensures the area remains open to recreation like hiking, fishing, and rafting on the Arkansas River and protects important habitat for wildlife like falcons, bobcats, big horn sheep, and elk, while providing economic benefits to the local community.

The Pullman National Monument honors the fight for fair labor conditions and the early Civil Rights movement. The Honouliuli National Monument — the country's largest prisoner-of-war camp and longest-used World War II internment camp in Hawai'i — allows us to acknowledge and learn from the painful parts of our past.

Send a message thanking President Obama for protecting Browns Canyon, Pullman and Honouliuli!
Dear President Obama,

Thank you for designating three important monuments that recognize our nation's wild places and cultural history -- Browns Canyon in Colorado, Chicago's historic Pullman neighborhood, and the Honouliuli Internment Camp on Oahu.

Browns Canyon provides a unique combination of whitewater, wildlife, and wilderness recreation. This national monument designation will preserve Browns Canyon while sustaining jobs, growing our economy, and protecting our quality of life for generations to come.

By designating Pullman and Honouliuli as national monuments, you have safeguarded these places so that current and future generations can deepen their understanding of our shared cultural past.

I support your efforts to protect places like Browns Canyon and ensure places of historical significance are preserved forever by using the Antiquities Act. Thank you!
