After reviewing the facts upon the petitioners Website and related information we may be aware of, we request that all concerned parties endeavor to protect and preserve this delicate eco-system, in both official and nor-official manners, and to the best of your ability as concerned citizens and officials
We the people of this one planet are fully aware of the extreme ecological threats to the Bay of La Paz and the Gulf of California, the most biologically diverse body of water on Earth.
This Sea has no less than 34% of all marine species, is the nesting grounds for three quarters of all rare and highly endangered Sea Turtles and just in the Bay of La Paz there are more than 634 known species, several as in the Whale Shark are near the verge of extinction and their only know birthing grounds are adjacent to a proposed major resort that all valid scientific studies conclude has major irreversible negative impacts on the eco-system. There are no less than 6 bird species on the Endangered Species List and one is on the verge of extinction.
The Bay of La Paz and the Gulf of California are absolutely essential for the Northeastern Pacific Marine Bio-region and a critical link for the entire Pacific Basin, with a number of highly endangered species transiting the the entire Pacific Basin to birth their young in the Gulf of California.
It is absolutely essential to protect, preserve and restore the mangrove forests of the region for they, along with reef systems, are, in fact, the primary life source for most marine species, which also supply the entire marine chain of life.
We request that all Mexican officials comply with International Laws and Treaties for the protection of the numerous endangered species involved.
We further request that all officials involved with administering and adjudicating International Laws and Treaties act in this case in as prompt a manner as possible.
