The Temple University Board of Trustees recently announced that they will eliminating seven athletic programs as of July 1st, 2014. These teams are Women's Softball, Men's Baseball, Men's Crew, Women's Rowing, Men's Gymnastics, and Men's Track and Field. These sports are historic to Temple University. They have produced professional athletes, U.S national team members and Olympians to go forth and be succesful, while not only representing Temple University, but also the United States and now all of that is being taken away. Now the love of the sport for present and future athletes are being jeopardized. From this, more than 150 athletes are being stripped of their right to represent themselves, their team, their coaches, the alumni, the student body, their family and friends and their school Temple University! Along with these athletes being stripped of their title, 9 coaches are losing their jobs and their postition as head coach. By signing this petition you are helping us to save these teams allowing the athletes, coaches and all those who have been affected by the board's decision. With the support and help, these present and future athletes will go forth competing and carrying out a legacy for their right to bleed the colors of CHERRY and WHITE for their school Temple University!
