Investigate Allegations of Military Killing Animals with (ATSCC)

PETA has concerns regarding an alleged animal abuse by a General Robert Neller who is believed to have shot, stabbed and killed animals in Suffolk, Virginia as part of a training drill.  The activity was occurring for Marines personnel on land that is not zoned for these activities. The probability is that this is a violation of local law and other Marine Corps violations on property not zoned for this type of medical training drills.  Read story at http://www.peta.org/blog/marine-corps-urged-to-ban-contractor-for-apparently-illegal-killing-of-animals/?utm_campaign=1015%20Marine%20Corps%20Urged%20to%20Ban%20Contractor%20for%20Apparently%20Illegal%20Killing%20of%20Animals%20Post&utm_source=PETA%20Facebook&utm_medium=Promo

We are asking for a full investigation into these alleged charges by General Neller and the Assessment and Training Solutions Consulting Corporation (ATSCC) to determine if there was indeed any wrong doing as military drills, whether on or off permitted property.  The property was zoned as “agricultural” but these military drills are apparently illegal.  Another concern is that city inspectors were aware of the practices and turned a blind eye to these drills and killings of animals.

As a representative from PETA stated, “Shooting, cutting up, and killing animals for military trauma training is cruel, educationally inferior, and, in this case, also apparently illegal. The Marine Corps should not be doing business with a company that has so little regard for following the law.” Our effort in this petition is to ask for a full investigation into these allegations of abuse on animals and carrying military medical drills on illegal properties, ensuring the offenders are held accountable if indeed in violation.  You can help us in our efforts by signing and sharing this petition.

U. S. Congress – We strongly urge you to conduct a full investigation into the alleged violations by the Marine Corps killing and mutilating animals for military medical drills and on illegal properties without permits.  We ask that you fully support the Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training (BEST) Practices Act (S. 587/H.R. 1095) which does not allow for the loss of animals’ lives, finding other methods in teaching service members other lifesaving medical skills through more modern technology rather than kill and mutilate animals in the name of science.  Ensure a full investigation to determine wrongdoing and ensure, if guilty, offenders are held accountable and other practices are implemented that bans the killing of animals.
