Walmart's Great Value brand tuna, and other tuna on sale in its stores, is supplied by the target of Greenpeace's global tuna campaign - Thai Union. Thai Union, the world's biggest tuna company, is on our radar for its reliance on destructive fisheries that waste other marine life like turtles and sharks and for being repeatedly linked to forced labour and other human rights abuses in its seafood supply chains.
As a major customer of Thai Union, Walmart can, and must, use its buying power to help force the tuna giant to clean up its global supply chains once and for all. Without a stronger tuna policy, Walmart customers can't be sure their tuna is free from forced labour and ocean destruction.
Thai Union is starting to listen and seek solutions. The time to act is now.
Demand Walmart require more sustainable and ethical canned tuna from Thai Union, and help ensure the health of ocean life and the fair treatment of workers from sea to store shelf.
