Canadian officials have just made a decision that threatens the environment and economy of Washington state. The Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion threatens our shared waters, shared economies, and shared climate.
This pipeline expansion would be even larger than the Keystone XL pipeline and would bring 595,000 barrels per day of dirty tar sands oil from Alberta to Vancouver BC. It is then shipped through the Salish Sea between Washington and British Columbia. The result would be a 700% increase in oil tanker traffic to 400 tankers every year through the Puget Sound.
Let our elected officials know that Washington won't stand for it! Washington won’t put our waters and economy at risk for big oil profits and that starts with you signing this petition.
