Open Up Pershing Square

Pershing Square is located in the heart of Downtone Los Angeles and is currently closed to the public for no reason. All city officials blame each other for the closing of public places at park (like the grass, dirt, water fountains, and restrooms) that public tax dollars support. It is time that this park be open to the public everyday without reservation.
Please help the public to take back the property that is rightfully theirs. Grass, walkways, and restrooms should be open throughout the day for the public to enjoy. As things stand right now, there is yellow police caution tape blocking off public access to the majority of the park. The park securtiy officers enforce the city rules though they, like others, have no reason why. The park also has a free Wi-fi service though nobody can take advantage of that as there is no where to sit while using the service.

The only time that the tape is currently removed is when public concerts are played in the park. As soon as the concert is over however, the tape is back up and the area blocked off.  Throughout this time the  restrooms and water are not turned on either as it is to much trouble for the staff to handle.

Our public land needs to be enjoyed by all people who wish to enjoy it. In this fast paced city it is nice to find one place where you can relax, catch your breath, and enjoy the scenery.
