We the undersigned urge you to apply severe disciplinary action against Luis Moreno, a player from the Colombian team Deportivo Pereira.
Luis Moreno kicked in a cowardly manner an injured owl that was laying on the field after it was hit by the soccer ball during a game in the Roberto Melendez de Barranquilla stadium on Sunday February the 27thof 2011.
A video of the game shows very clearly how Luis Moreno approached the hurt owl, and, with no hesitation, kicked it off the field.

This kind of conduct is unacceptable and it is a disgrace. As the presidents of the team and football associations that govern this sport it is your foremost duty to apply disciplinary actions to players that behave in such an ignorant, cruel, vicious and violent manner.
Don't forget that young children look at this player as role model, and I don't believe Luis Moreno makes a good role model at all. It is up to you to show players this is not a behavior that will be condoned and overlooked.
Showing respect and compassion for a hurt animal makes you a bigger man than kicking a defenseless creature. Hurting an injured animal only makes you a coward, and a very small man.
