THOMAS COOK PUT PROFITS BEFORE PEOPLE

Thomas Cook Airlines have increased their air fares to The Gambia, West Africa, by hundreds of pounds putting profit before people.
Gambia is a small and poor West African country that relies on its short seasonal tourist industry which last season suffered badly with people not travelling to the country due to the Ebola scare, even though Gambia was Ebola free.
Gambia this season desperately needs tourists to travel there but in just a few days Thomas Cook put up its return fares from under £300 to £600/£700/£800. This will not encourage people to travel but will put people off.
Thomas Cook are expected to show a loss of millions of pounds when their end of year figures are released due to problems elsewhere. This is no reason to put up airfares to Gambia to such an extortionate and unreasonable level.
The action of Thomas Cook is likely to cause a very bad tourist season again in Gambia causing more hotels to close and people who are already struggling to make a living to lose their jobs.
The people of Gambia are already poverty stricken. Thomas Cook are putting profits before people. THIS IS A DISGRACE. HELP PERSUADE THE COMPANY TO DRASTICALLY REDUCE ITS AIRFARES TO GAMBIA AND HELP THE TOURIST INDUSTRY REVIVE AND RECOVER FROM LAST YEAR.
