Speak Out Against Legalized Discrimination by Congressional Republicans!

  • by: Sarah Rose
  • recipient: Congressional Republicans, President Barack Obama

Congressional Republicans recently voted unanimously to display the Confederate Battle Flag at the Citadel and in favor of a provision that reverse President Obama’s executive order banning anti-LGBTQ discrimination in federal contracts.

This kind of maneuvering by Congressional Republicans is divisive, hate-mongering, and unnecessary. Measures like this will only increase the divide between people, stoke racism, and allow for more discrimination and bullying of LGBTQ citizens in the federal workplace.

These measures would make it nearly impossible for federal LGBTQ employees to be guaranteed protection in the workplace. It’s 2016, and every citizen deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. The Confederate flag is seen as a divisive symbol of racism, and should not be displayed at the Citadel.

Sign the petition today to urge the Senate to shut down these measures and for Obama to guarantee a veto if these measures are to pass.
