Fire Director of AWL!

For years the director of AWL has been anything but helpful when it comes to the well being of the animals at the shelter. She has lied on numerous occasions, put animals down without even trying to get them the proper help and training they need, and when confronted she lies even more. Why would someone who claims to love animals so much feel the need to lie and not actually help them?
One of many examples is Kiana. Kiana was the beloved pet of a murder victim. She witnessed her owners get shot in their home. We don't know what all she saw that night or what all happened to her too. She was taken to AWL where she was later put up for adoption. At the time family could not take her in because they all had kids in their homes and Kiana didn't do well with kids. She had several interested adopters but Darla (the director) and her staff ignored them all and gave people a run around. Finally, they adopted her out to a family who had children! The shelter knew she was not to go to a home with children but they didn't care. When Kiana attacked the family's son she was returned to the shelter on August 4, 2015. No one in the victims family was notified, no one knew she was returned. After finding out a few months later, the victims mother wanted an update and realized the family no longer had Kiana. After contacting the shelter, she was lied to, her phone calls were ignored, and she was told several different stories. All she wanted was to know where Kiana was and if she was ok. She simply wanted closure. After several messages from many different people and after involving Abc 57 news, we finally got answers. Unfortunately they didn't come from AWL. They came from a local rescue who was in contact with the previous adopters of Kiana. Sadly, Kiana was euthanized. We were told it was after she went home with a volunteer for awhile, but we aren't even sure that is the truth.
Our question is, why not be honest from the beginning? Why make everyone wonder? Why lie if you have nothing to hide? The director refused to make any comments once contacted by Abc 57 news and she even lied about some things about the rescue that was trying to help.
The bottom line is Kiana, along with many other dogs, could still be alive and well if she had just reached out and/or received the help she was being offered! She is a control freak who has to have it her way or no way, no matter what happens to the animals along the way.
