Space World, a theme park in Kitakyushu, Japan, froze 5,000 fish into the floor of their ice skating rink. Visitors were skating above fish, shellfish, and other marine animals - because the park wanted visitors feel as though they were "skating on the sea".
The park has since apologized and held a memorial service for the fish.
Together, we should urge the park to donate to a reputable animal rights organization so they can utilize their publicity for good. They said the rink with frozen fish was a "world first" - maybe now, they can do something truly world-changing.
Join me in urging Space World to donate a portion of their proceeds to animal rights.
