Everyday we hear that wildlife on this planet is being killed for selfish reasons such as sport hunting or culling. As humans who have developed a greater understanding of the workings of this planet, we ought not to be the ones doing this kind of deed.
Recently in Zimbabwe, more than 60 elephants died of cyanide poisoning. Reports suggest that this was done to settle rangers' pay issues with their employer. (Dozens of elephants killed in Zimbabwe national park)
These rangers were meant to protect these animals. I'm completely lost as to why Zimbabwe Wildlife Authority would hire people who don't care for or have compassion for these animals in the first place to be their protectors.
The case must be handled as a criminal offense and the people responsible must be jailed for life for their horrible unforgivable actions. Please join in this petition to let ZWA know that the world does take note of such things and does care enough to call for an action.

Hi all, I found another petition that is fighting for the same cause. It has lot more traction than this one, so I urge you to sign that one if you haven't done so already. I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for signing this petition.

Apparently, journalists have been arrested for publishing false reports. I'm not sure what's happening, but the goal remains the same - to get justice for these elephants regardless of the perpetrators. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-34710171
