Many years ago Melaleuca had signed a pledge with Peta (statement of assurance) promising to never perform testing on animals, as a result were put on Peta's cruelty-free list. It was discovered later that Melaleuca performed two tests on animals (rats and dogs), resulting in the death of ten rats, while on Peta's cruelty-free list. Their words were, "The rats died a horrible death..." (Peta.org).
There are more accurate and cost productive alternatives to animal testing. Urge Melaleuca to return to their previous position of cruelty-free practices by choosing these other alternatives to archaic and torturous animal testing.
