Angus Bull tortured by Idaho Deputies
- by: Kendra Marks
- recipient: Adams County Sheriff's Department
On November 1st an Angus Bull was hit by a car on US Highway 95, north of Council, Idaho. The sheriff's department called the rancher he belonged to, to put the bull down. Its leg was shattered. The two deputies that met the rancher at the scene of the accident opened fire on the bull, despite the fact that they knew the rancher had left to get his gun to humanely shoot the bull in the back of the head. The animal was shot numerous times, causing suffering and pain, but was not shot in a way that would kill it. The rancher returned, was standing 4 feet behind the bull and and had his finger on the trigger to put it out of its misery, when he was shot and killed by the deputies. The ranchers death is being investigated. After the rancher had been shot, despite pleas from family members, the deputies still did not put the bull out of its misery. Instead it suffered for another 2 hours, finally drowning in its own blood that had pooled into its lungs. The deputies are currently on paid leave. Please sign this petition that asks the deputies not continue to be paid for their leave after torturing this poor animal.
