So many innocent rhinos are being killed worldwide just for their horns due to the assumption that the horns contain medicinal properties. In reality, they are composed of Keratin which is the same protein found in hair and nails. Unfortunately, at least three rhinos are killed daily for their horns.
A sweet little Rhino by the name of Vinnie is just a youngster that is living in a sanctuary after poachers brutally killed his mother, while he stood at her side in mourning. You can read more of his full sad story at http://www.onegreenplanet.org/news/rhino-who-watched-his-mother-killed-by-poachers-needs-our-help/.
After such a tragedy, the news of Vinnie has been circulating in an attempt to find him a safe, happy and healthy forever home. A spokesperson speaking out on Vinnie’s behalf states that “as Vinnie is about to become a young adult, the time has come for him to join a new family of rhinos in a safe sanctuary where he can live wild and free.” Although he is in good hands at the moment, Vinnie needs to be reunited with other rhinos to live the natural life that he deserves.
The effort in this petition is to ask the Head of Department of Environmental Affairs to intervene and ensure that Vinnie finds a good and healthy, reputable forever home. He had so a horrific start in life and deserves to find a safe home and care that he deserves. You can help in this effort by signing and sharing this petition, adding your own thoughts and comments that will help Vinnie.
Head of Department of Environmental Affairs - Ms Anna Mampye – I strongly urge you to read the issues at http://www.onegreenplanet.org/news/rhino-who-watched-his-mother-killed-by-poachers-needs-our-help/ that involves Vinnie the young rhino. So many animals of this species lose their lives on a daily basis and such was the case for Vinnie’s mother. Despite the tragedy, Vinnie remained next to his mom for an extended period of time until he was rescued and now he is a displaced little guy. Please ensure that he finds the safe, happy, healthy and reputable forever home.
