#1. ELEPHANTS DON'T BELONG IN ZOO'S! ESPECIALLY THIS ZOO!
The Dickerson Zoo is the former zoo to Chai, that was beaten to death at the Woodland Park Zoo, last month. She was also beaten at this zoo......She was born in Bangkok and she was shipped to Seattle as a gift by Thai Airlines. When she was in her 20’s she was sent to Dickerson Park Zoo to be bred with a bull. There she was beaten up to two hours and Dickerson Park Zoo was fined by the USDA for that beating.
Whistleblowers recently told PETA that Chai, an endangered female Asian elephant from the Woodland Park Zoo was badly mistreated in September 1998 when she was sent to the Dickerson Park Zoo in Missouri to be bred. Reports have stated that Chai was chained down by two of her legs and was put thorough a series of commands. Because she did not understand one of the commands the keeper began to jab her with a bullhook in a very sensitive spot, eventually causing her to swing her head around in a attempt to stop the torment. Other keepers observing the "training session" walked out and returned shortly thereafter with large pieces of wood and bullhooks in their hands. The head keeper repeated his command and continually jabbed Chai until she again tried to defend herself. As if on cue, we are told that all of the keepers in the barn began to beat Chai with the bullhooks and pieces of wood, first beating her in a standing position and then while she was prone on the ground. Eyewitnesses say the beating session continued for almost 2 ½ hours.
With my research of this zoo, I do not understand why they are still allowed to have elephants. They are guilty of so many atrocities to Our Precious Elephants! Many deaths and much abuse.
In my research, I could find no where how many elephants they still have there Captive. Which tells me, they have something to hide. I telephoned the zoo and asked them how many elephants they had. She had to put me on hold. her return answer was, We usually have one elephant out a day, but not all days, so I don't know how many are back there?!
IT'S PAST TIME THIS CRUEL AND ABUSIVE ZOO RELEASE ALL THEIR ELEPHANT'S IMMEDIATELY TO A SANCTUARY SUCH AS THE ELEPHANT SANCTUARY IN TENNESSEE.
There, they would have the opportunity to roam acres of natural habitat, play in a pond, forage for fresh vegetation, befriend other elephants, and enjoy a full, healthy, and enriched life.
WE DEMAND THE DICKERSON ZOO TO RELEASE THESE INNOCENT ANIMALS IMMEDIATELY!
PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE.
Thank you Very much..
