Ask Uber to Add a Tipping Feature to All of Its Rides!

Tipping is customary in the transportation business, but Uber currently does not have an option to tip your driver on most rides.
I've been an Uber driver for 2.5 years, and I have a great working relationship with the company. Often, passengers tell me they'd like to provide a tip. But if they don't have cash, they can't do so through the Uber app.
Your Uber fare includes a default 20% tip when you take UberTAXI (an Uber-taxi partnership), but if you're riding in an UberX, UberBlack, or UberSUV, there's no way to tip your driver.
Tipping is a surefire way to extend goodwill toward your driver. It's a gesture of appreciation for a job well done, and there's no reason to deny drivers and passengers this option. Uber's competitor, Lyft, includes this feature on all rides. Considering many drivers rely on Uber as a primary income source, it makes sense to allow us to earn a little extra money when passengers feel we've done a good job.
Uber doesn't prevent drivers from accepting a cash tip, but many people use Uber because they no longer carry cash, so it makes sense to have tipping as an in-app option.
I love working for Uber, and I want to see the app become even better. Please sign my petition to ask Uber to add a tipping feature to all of its ride options!

Many Uber drivers report passengers have requested a tipping feature. Tipping is simply a gesture of appreciation for a job well done, and there's no reason to deny drivers and passengers this option. Your competitor, Lyft, includes this feature on all rides, while Uber only allows tipping with UberTAXI rides.
Considering many drivers rely on Uber as a primary income source, it makes sense to allow them to earn a little extra money when passengers feel they've done a good job. Tipping is customary in the transportation service sector. As many riders no longer carry cash, a tipping feature integrated into the app (perhaps offered as an option when the rider rates the driver) would benefit drivers by adding to their earnings and job satisfaction.
