Reopen the Lossiemouth Harbour Road

After generations of free access around the Lossiemouth Harbour, on the weekend of January 31 the harbour board took it upon themselves to place bollards at either end so blocking public vehicular freedom of access.

This was done under the guise of public safety - but there has never been an accident in living memory on this road, no study of the issue was undertaken and no public consultations took place.

We believe that this will be harmful to local businesses around the harbour, will deter tourism in Lossiemouth and in fact may be more dangerous for pedestrians as delivery and refuse lorries are forced to reverse along a heavily used pedestrian access to reach shops on the harbour.

In addition, people with disabilities will have their access restricted as they won't be able to drive their cars down this road for access to the Harbour.

We call on the Harbour Board to review this decision as a matter of urgency.

Please sign the petition to show the Harbour Board that the public thinks they should reconsider the decision and remove the bollards.

Dear Lossiemouth Harbour Board,

After generations of free access around the Lossiemouth Harbour, on the weekend of January 31 you placed bollards at either end so blocking public vehicular freedom of access.

We call on you to review this decision as a matter of urgency.
