Recently, a judge removed the injunction that banned the use of dogs for hunting wolves. ACT 169, allows for hunters to pursue wolves with up to six dogs.
On the note of science, the wolf, (Canis lupus) is of the same species as the domestic dog, (Canis lupus familiaris). According to DNA studies, domestic dogs owe their origins to the wolf. So, technicially pitting one against the other, is a glorified form of the dogfighting- a bloodsport which is a felony in all 50 states, Wisconson included.
Dog-fighting is an activity in which dogs are bred, and conditioned to fight each other. The fights can leave a dog seriously injured or can result in the death of the animal. Dog fighting is punishable as a felony in all 50 states.
Tell Governor Walker to call off plans to hunt wolves with dogs immediately and veto ACT 169. Dogs are not weapons.
