Demand An Independent Investigation Into Russia's Influence in American Politics

We know that Russia influenced the election last year. We must demand an independent investigation into exactly how they did it, who is guilty of helping and how we can be sure they don't continue to have influence in our government.

After the intelligence community found that Russia influenced the election, former President Obama put some sanctions on Russia. Then, Michael Flynn promised he would remove them once Trump was in office. The problem is he did this before Trump was president and he was in any official capacity, which is completely illegal. Now we need to know who else knew he did this. Now he has resigned over the scandal. The FBI is looking into whether he had received payment from Russia back in 2015. There is also a question of whether Flynn was being blackmailed by Russian officials.

This is just the most recent and potentially scariest example of Russia trying to influence American politics for their own gain. If we don't figure out what has happened, we are no longer a true democracy, instead, we are the puppets of another government. 

Now it's come out that multiple Trump aids had been in contact with Russian officials in 2016. Again, this is illegal and super scary in that it's clear Russia has an undue impact on the way US politics goes. 

But politicians like the Chairmen of House Intel panel, and Jason Chaffetz, the chair of the House Oversight Committee are refusing to investigate Flynn. Chaffetz said "It's taking care of itself", which is insane and untrue. This comes after Chaffetz has spent and continues to spend a lot of time and money looking into Hillary's emails. Rand Paul has also said he didn't think it would be "useful" to investigate the Flynn and Russia issue.  

We cannot accept the idea that our elected officials are too scared to investigate, we have to insist they do it. Please sign to demand an independent investigation.
