In May, 2012, three boys attacked and raped a 15-year-old girl with an extremely low IQ at Martin De Porres Academy, a school for students with special needs in Long Island. The police report reveals that one of the boys repeatedly banged her head against a table, while the other two forced her to give them oral sex and then tried to have forcible anal sex with her. The girl kept saying “no” and “stop” but that the boys continued to assault her.
However, Nassau County police have decided not to press charges because the attackers also have low IQs. Apparently that makes the attack consensual, according to them.
Even worse, this rape happened inside a classroom, with a teacher present.
Please sign our petition to the Nassau County District Attorney, asking her to independently evaluate the practices of Martin De Porres Academy, to ensure that this doesn't happen again.
Dear Kathleen Rice,
In May, 2012, three boys attacked and raped a 15-year-old girl with an extremely low IQ at Martin De Porres Academy, a school for students with special needs in Long Island.
I am deeply concerned not only that Nassau County police are not taking action, but also that this attack appears to have happened in a classroom, with a teacher present.
Please ensure that such an incident never happens again, by using your office to independently evaluate the practices at Martin De Porres Academy.
Thank you for your time.
