Dow Chemical, a massive corporation that produces pesticides, donated a whopping $1 million to Donald Trump in January. And now, the multinational is pushing the Trump Administration to ignore science and not regulate harmful pesticides.
Scientists say that a specific group of pesticides poses significant threat to 1,800 species. Dow, however, is not concerned with sustainability or science, but instead with profits. Of the nearly two-thousands plants, animals, and insects that would be at risk, all are already critically threatened or endangered. And now a company that has deep ties to the pockets of the Trump Administration is trying to bribe them, suggesting they ignore findings from federal scientists. Of course, this step is just part of a broad trend of deregulation and anti-science rhetoric from the 45th president and his administration.
