The oil industry's growing interest in drilling and fracking in and around Florida's Everglades puts the beautiful tropic wetlands at risk.
The Department of Environmental Protection seems to think preserving the Everglades is limited to the National Park itself. Not only does the surround land deserve protection, but precedence has shown that the consequences of drilling are far-reaching and are likely to affect the Park land anyway.
Please protect the endangered Flordia panther, as well as the entirety of the Everglades by not entertaining proposals to drill anywhere near the area.
