I have a dear online friend that struggles daily to feed and care for the many abandoned and feral street cats in her home of Cyprus. She and her husband selflessly give all they have and often do without so that they can give food and medication to these unwanted cats. Her stories are heartbreaking and the government would rather poison them than allow people to feed them. The area is a tourist attraction and visitors only see the beauty of the animals and not the horror of what happens when tourist season ends. She and others that have tried to help the cats have been told to stop or they will be fined!
I'm not in a position to help much financially but I know if we stand up to the government and tell them to stop poisoning these cats they will listen. We need to hit them where it hurts the most, tourism.
