We support the Gendered Conference Campaign and encourage others to
do the same. In particular:
(1) We believe there are still too many all-male conference and volumes.
(2) All-male conferences and volumes contribute to the stereotype of
philosophy as male and thus to gender inequity and unfairness in the
profession.
(3) Philosophers, both organizers and participants, should take
affirmative steps to insure fair representation of female
philosophers, and philosophers from other under-represented groups, in
conferences, publications, and other philosophical events.
