Deuce, a one year-old Pit Bull in Jackson, Mississippi, is being held at the City of Jackson Animal Shelter for rabies testing and will be killed soon all because he protected his property.
When a 12 year old child went into the Deuce's fenced in yard without permission to retrieve a ball, Deuce bit her.
He was only protecting his property from trespassers. He has had no history of aggression according to his owner.
To a dog, there is no difference between a child retrieving a ball and an intruder trespassing with intent to harm its owner. This dog did nothing wrong, and his life should be spared so that he can be adopted by a loving person who will give him the care and training he deserves
