Content Warning: Descriptions of domestic violence, animal abuse, and animal death.

A horrific case of animal cruelty and domestic violence unfolded last year in Fargo, North Dakota. The details are disturbing and tragic. To punish his ex-girlfriend for arriving home late from a concert, a man microwaved her kitten to death. He then put her dead kitten in a dumpster, and warned the woman that he would kill her next. The abuser was sentenced to prison, but we must ensure he never terrorizes another person or animal again.

Sign this petition to demand that this person receives a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory psychological counseling to address his deeply troubling behavior.

Before he brutally murdered her kitten, the abuser sent the woman photos of the innocent animal over a stove burner. He also choked the poor creature, burned its feet with a liter, and hit the kitten over the head, causing a seizure. The man also hit the woman and cut her with a knife so badly she needed stitches.

The unimaginably cruelty by this man, using torture as a means of terror, is almost unthinkable. In a letter written by the abuser's ex-girlfriend that was read in court, the woman recounted the physical abuse and psychological torture she experienced by this man, who regularly threatened to kill her if she left him.

This case is a chilling example of the well-documented link between animal abuse and domestic violence, showing that people capable of such violence pose a significant risk to both the animals and people in their lives.

Join us in calling for a lifetime ban on animal ownership for this individual and mandatory psychological counseling to prevent further violence!
