Please sign this petition and help us find where Emily the tiger cub was sold to so we can see if she is okay.
•Emily was born June 2014 at DEW Haven in Mount Vernon, Maine
•Along with her two siblings, she was taken from her mother shortly after birth and used for profit at just a few weeks old
•Bob and Julie Miner owners of DEW Haven, let the public feed these young and vulnerable tigers cubs for $50
One of Emily’s siblings died and the other one was sold and gone at just one month of age. The Miners could not find a buyer for Emily so she stayed for several months. Dot, a volunteer at DEW Haven grew very attached to little Emily and tried to give her the enrichment and love that the Miners were not giving.
Then one day another volunteer saw people come to take Emily and watched poor Emily being taken away. Dot did not even get to say goodbye! Julie Miner told Dot that she went to someone asking for a young female tiger on a Craigslist ad! Now they refuse to acknowledge our repeated attempts to find out exactly where Emily went. Dot has been searching for over a year now and is heartbroken. She has bravely come out to speak out about the conditions and rampant breeding at DEW Haven.
Bob and Julie Miner filmed a contrived show called Yankee Jungle at their facility currently being aired on Animal Planet. This supposed “non-profit sanctuary and rescue” is raking in the money and selling baby animals across the continent. Sign this petition and help bring awareness to the abuse and scam that is DEW Haven and Yankee Jungle.
Update #28 years ago
Julie Miner has said that the new owner of Emily has changed her name to Emma-Aurora and has her leash trained! That signifies "exotic pet" and being used for human selfish needs over what is best for the tiger. There is still no disclosure of where exactly "Emma" is! A shady business and we will keep trying. Thank you!
Update #18 years ago
Because of this petition, DEW Haven was forced to make a statement about Emily (who they call Aurora). Sadly it is still just a ruse, and they say she is at a USDA facility but REFUSE to say exactly where! This is a common tactic of breeding backyard zoos, they sell among each other and protect their identities, all the while pretending to be promoting "conservation". PLEASE KEEP SHARING THE PETITION AND MOUNTING THE PRESSURE!
