Man Strangles His Adopted Shelter Dog for Barking
Jason French, 33 yrs. of Irwin, PA strangled his adopted shelter dog Apollo whom he adopted in March 2013 from Animal Friends of Westmorland. The authorities have stated that French showed no remorse when he explained that it took him nearly three hours to strangle his black Labrador retriever mix named "Apollo." French told the authorities that he strangled the dog because he would not stop barking. According to the criminal complaint, French stated, "You wouldn't think it would take that long with a dog that size."A heartbreaking statement about the torture that Apollo endured before dying was posted by Nelson on Facebook - the post reads, in part, "This was not a crime of impulse, this was a cruel, horrific act of torture of which Jason engaged in for over three excruciating hours until Apollo took his last painful breath. I cannot begin to imagine what type of soulless individual could do such a thing to a sweet dog that loved him unconditionally."
Unfortunately, cruelty to animals is only a misdemeanor in the state of Pennsylvania and French could face a short time behind bars, if any.
Lets tell Gov. Wolfe to push and pass for a law in PA for tougher punishments for on animal abuses.
