recipient: Indiana state legislature; Gov. Eric Holcomb, Indiana
Medical marijuana has been shown to help alleviate several illnesses; especially chronic pain, seizures, glaucoma, mental illnesses, and severe nausea.
Our neighbor Illinois has medical marijuana legalized and they have seen a huge uptick in relief of these illnesses. We are also in an opioid epidemic, and legalization of medical marijuana could drastically cut the numbers of opiate addiction, overdoses, and deaths.
As a chronic pain patient, I am afraid for the future of my pain control due to the potential for abuse and addiction with prescription pain medication. Without adequate pain control, many people with chronic pain and illnesses have little to no quality of life. The chronic illness community sees a large rate of suicide, because they are constantly in pain and have no hope for functionality and pain relief in the future.
Right now, a bill going through the legislature would legalize CBD oil for epilepsy patients. This is great, but leaves out countless other people who are suffering.
Please sign this petition to ask for a broader medical marijuana bill in Indiana that will help chronic pain sufferers!
Please support the chronic pain and illness community by signing this petition! Many lives are at stake and could be vastly improved by the legalization of medical marijuana!
