Tell NYC Museum to STOP Serving Illegal Horsemeat!

MoMA PS1, an affiliate of The Museum of Modern Art, has recently open a cafe - the M. Wells Dinette where chef Hugue Dufour announced he would serve fresh ground horse tartare as one of the dishes.

The cafeteria style restaurant in a former public school plans to exhibit a sushi display case to be used as Dufour's horse-tartare -(yes, horse)- station: "There’ll be a hand grinder inside covered with meat."

Tell the M. Wells Dinette to stop serving cruelty produced horse meat imported from Canada where animal welfare laws do not protect horses or assure they are treated humanely before being butchered. Not only is this unethical, it is also illegal.

The sale of horse meat is presently ILLEGAL in the U.S. "You can’t serve it to the public if it’s not inspected by the USDA," says retired USDA veterinarian, Dr. Lester Friedlander.

Tell the Board of Directors at MoMA PS1 to remove horsemeat from the cafeteria menu immediately.
