LBK-9 COALITION is an advocacy group formed to improve the community environment for people who enjoy outdoor recreation with their dogs. Our goals include better education and awareness for both dog owners and non owners. In addition, we request designation of a fair and equitable recreation zone on our area beach for Longboat Key families to enjoy responsibly with their dogs. Enjoying the beach and the water with the family dog is a legitimate form of recreation which will improve the health and social welfare of our residents.
We advocate a considerate approach that respects the concerns of non-dog owners while providing dog owners with rightful access to public spaces. We are taxpayers and we are voters. We care about our community. We are committed to enriching the quality of community life through responsible pet ownership and fostering goodwill between pet owners and others.
