Republican leaders in Ohio are trying to block President Biden from the November ballot, using a state law that hasn't been enforced in the last 40 years. Tell them to stop playing politics and put Biden on the ballot! >>
An Ohio state law requires officials to certify the ballot 90 days before an election, which would be before the Democratic National Convention, where President Biden would officially be named as the party nominee.
But this law has been skirted many times in the past, as reported by Daily Kos: "there has only been ONE time that both parties have finished their leadership conventions before the deadline: in 2016. Apart from that, in the last *40 years*, at least one of the two parties has held their convention after the deadline — and in every single case, that state has either done a provisional certification or resolved it in their legislature, without debate."
Now the Ohio Attorney General is refusing to accept any workarounds, like provisional certification, and standing in the way of Biden being on the November ballot. This is unacceptable! Biden MUST be on the November ballot in Ohio, and these Republicans need to stop playing games with our democracy.
