Fire Harry Ward, Detroit Animal Control Director, and prosecute him for animal abuse.

Harry Ward, Detroit Animal Control Director, has been forcing all the animals in Detroit Animal Control to live in neglected and abusive conditions, as seen in numerous on-line and television news reports. Among various horrendous accusations, animals are given food on the same concrete floor they are forced to defecate on. Harry enforces a cash-only adoption policy where he is able to deny adoptions as well as hide taxpayer money. Harry keeps young, unvaccinated puppies in areas with adult dogs, subjecting them to numerous diseases. Animal neglect and lack of medical attention has lead to the death of scores of dogs at Detroit Animal Control.

Harry Ward has kept a single dog named Peaches in the Animal Control Shelter for YEARS, "claiming" her as his. Harry has not removed Peaches from the shelter, forcing her to live in constant shelter conditions. Harry has admitted that he cannot prove the continued care of Peaches. This dog needs to be removed from the shelter and out of the control of Harry Ward immediately.

Harry Ward’s behavior border on hording and is not in the best interest of the animals he is charged with protecting.

Kym Worthy, Wayne County Prosecutor, and Mayor Mike Duggan, we implore you to IMMEDIATELY fire Harry Ward, Detroit Animal Control Director and prosecute him for animal abuse where he is not able to work with or personally own any animal.
