Please Take Action: To put and end to the killing of Grizzly, Haida, Black and Kermode or Spirit Bears for sport along the BC coast and throughout the Great Bear Rainforest.
We the undersigned require the Canadian government to take action to ban the trophy hunting of bears on the coast of BC and in the Great Bear Rainforest.
78% of Canadian are opposed to the hunting of bears and First Nations groups, for cultural and ethical reasons, have long opposed the killing of bears. These communities can earn far more from responsible bear- watching ecotourism than destructive bear hunting. We need to preserve our wildlife and its natural habitat for the enjoyment of generations to come, instead of destroying it for the sake of sport.
Please end the hunt and instead expand the wildlife viewing industry; it brings in considerably more money than hunting and meets the image most tourists and local citizens have of BC.
