A historic bill was recently proposed in Canada's parliament that would extend human rights protection to transgendered people in Canada. This would bill would offer legal protection to transgendered individuals and groups against discrimination, hate crimes and hate speech.
Trans people should have the same human rights protections as other Canadians. It is imperative that the members of parliament from all parties support this important bill that will improve the lives of so many Canadians.
Sign today to support transgendered people's acceptance and safety in Canadian society. By signing today you are sending a strong message that all expressions of gender are worthy of protection against hate and discrimination in this country.

To the Members of Parliament,
As a person who believes in human rights for all I strongly support bill C-16 and ask you to support the bill as it passes through parliamentary process.
Transgendered people have some of the highest rates of violence against them with one trans person being murdered worldwide each day. In Canada, over 45% of trans people have attempted suicide, often influenced by isolation and discrimination.
In Canada all citizens should have protection to be who they are without threat of violence, inability to secure work or hate.
Please support Bill C-16 and let Canada be a global example of human rights and transgender rights.
