Crack Down on Moscow's Dog Poisoning Trend!

Moscow residents are afraid to walk their pets in public parks after dog-killing "hobbyists" have reportedly slain up to 70 dogs over the past week. Among the victims was a 5-year-old corgi named Yasha who suffered a seizure and died after eating something suspected to be a poison-laced treat left in a Moscow park. Another dog owner noticed pieces of ham suspiciously scattered around a park on Thursday, September 20.

Dog hunting has grown in popularity because of online forums such as Pest.net and Vreditelyam.net. On these sites, people discuss how to poison dogs, including where to buy poison. They also post graphic photos of their killings.

Cruelty to animals is illegal in Russia, but laws are rarely enforced. Please sign the petition to urge Moscow Officials to take these poisonings seriously and make it a priority to catch and punish dog hunters to the fullest extent of the law.

We understand that cruelty to animals is illegal in Moscow, and we urge you to take these cases seriously. Pets are being killed in addition to stray dogs. Please trace the IP numbers of online dog-hunting hobbyists and use all other possible methods to catch dog hunters and punish them to the fullest extent of the law. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
