Everyone knows what an amazing work feeders are doing with stray and abandoned animals.Current Shelters are overwhelmed with rescued animals.Feeders require more resources in order to be able to help strays .The impact of more resources will lessen the problem since work is going to be spread on more responsible people.
Common problems for feeders are :
If every local council allocate 1 place ( even 1 small room would make a difference) where feeders can medicate, keep cats for recovery after spaying/ neutering procedures, keep rescued pregnant mums to safely give birth and re-home kittens etc etc it will lead to :
And the list goes on.....
If every locality takes care of its local strays , the situation of stray and abandoned animals in Maltese Islands would surely be much better... ( Taking care of such issue NOT IN A STUPID WAY LIKE THE STUPID IDEA OF KILLING PIGEONS IN MOST LOCALITIES)
Every locality must have a Sub - Committee that takes under its care such place to safe guard all the aspect of such project.
Funding such project can surely be done by the help of goverment & eu funds and also through fundraising activities held by the local Sub-Committee...
Dear Local Councils,
This is not only our (Feeders) voice but also the voice for the voiceless animals in each and every locality on the Maltese Island.Whoever cares for Animals gets so hurted when after so much care, love and money we see these strays being ran over, injured and even poisoned.
We are not asking for a state of the art premises that will cost thousand of euros .We are only asking for every locality to take a little bit of responsability in providing a place (Even a small room can make a huge difference - Every locality got goverment building that is being slowly destroyed due to no one cares about) where the feeders can keep up the work.
This is not only our problem as we care for them but it is a problem that local councils have to care about ( NOT IN A STUPID WAY OF SOLVING THE PROBLEM BY KILLING, LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE PIGEON ISSUE) but with love and dedication we will get toward a truly Animal Friendly Island....
This is not a sanctuary as it is impossible to confine all the strays cats we got just a recovery centre until the cats are fit to go back to their colony or to join a new loving home
Please find it in your heart and help feeders keep on helping and saving lives of stray and abandoned animals that without their fault they are suffering in silence.
