In a dismal regression of women's reproductive rights, a panel of three Texas judges has decided to uphold the law forcing women to hear a detailed description of the fetus' organs and limbs at least 24 hours before the procedure.
The law had previously been blocked when a judge found it forcing physicians to, "advance an ideological agenda with which they may not agree, regardless of any medical necessity, and irrespective of whether the pregnant women wish to listen."
But now judges have decided to enact the law immediately on the basis that doctors should provide, "truthful, non-misleading information."
When a woman decides to have an abortion, it should not be questioned by demeaning laws attempting to sway potentially vulnerable minds.
The law institutes an unhealthy block to women's reproductive rights and is degrading to women and the physicians who care for them.
Tell Texas: Stop Demeaning Anti-abortion Law!
We the undersigned would like to express our outrage to the implementation the law that forces women to hear a detailed description of the fetus before continuing with their abortion.
This will create an intrusive and demeaning process for a women to utilize her reproductive rights.
A woman's choice should not be questioned by the government nor should it be mocked in this way.
We ask you to stop this law which will infringe women's reproductive rights and create an invasive relationship between women and their physicians.
Thank you for taking our concerns into serious consideration.
