Let's keep a parasite like Ken Penders away from the franchise before he does anymore damage. Ian Flynn has spent almost 5 years repairing the damage done to the comic series, the result of Penders' terrible writing. Given recent events, we would like to ensure that Penders never be allowed near the franchise again.
We the undersigned ask the following, in great concern,
Ken Penders first began working on the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series in October 1993. Within less than 2 years the series ended up littered with unnecessary characters, bad plots, and began one heck of a nosedive due to Penders' terrible writing. However, he was kept on as their head writer up until issue #159 when he was fired and replaced with Ian Flynn. Flynn has spent the last 5 years repairing the damage done by Penders, and actually making the series readable again.
The writing done by Flynn has actually drawn in Sega's attention to the comic series, actually asking Flynn and Tracey Yardley (one of the series' newer artists) to create a special comic for Sonic and the Secret Rings; a Target exclusive addition to their copies of the game. Nothing like this happened when Penders was writing, because the content of the comics was so awful.
Recently Penders attempted to copyright the characters he created for the comic (despite them rightfully belonging to Sega), and unleashed this with a nasty and immature online retaliation against the current writers and artists of the comic. For this behavior and for what he originally did to the series, we would like to ask through this petition that Ken Penders be permanently barred from working on Sonic the Hedgehog or any relating properties, under the consequence of lawsuit; both on copyright violation and harassment to both Sega and Archie Comics employees.
Through this, we hope that as Sonic fans, our collective minds can be put to rest that he never again be allowed to sully the franchise.
